MISS AMIE
(Owner/Director/Choreographer/Company Director) grew up in Tewksbury Massachusetts where she trained
at the Donna Miceli Dance Center for fifteen years. In addition to
her local training, Amie received a scholarship to study under the
direction of many renowned choreographers at the Jeannette Neill
Dance Studio in Boston.
In 2003 Amie's childhood dream came true when she opened Performer's Edge Dance Center. She is so happy to bring dance to the Davenport/Four Corners Area. Amie loves to teach her own passion of dance and performing onto her students and she is so proud to see her dancers grow not only to be well trained dancers and performers but most importantly amazing individuals.
Amie's choreography has won numerous awards at both the regional and national competitive level. Her students have won numerous scholarships, received specialty awards, performed on cruise ships and more.
Amie resides in Davenport Florida with her husband Jim and they are the proud parents of Zoe Grace Hollborn. |

MISS SARAH CONE
Ballet, Pointe, Pre-Pointe
|
MISS SARAH is originally from Illinois where she started her dance training at the age of three. Sarah has had intensive training in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and strengthening throughout the years. After a bad foot injury in 2006, she turned to the very watchful eyes of Kenneth VonHeidecke at VonHeidecke School of Ballet in Naperville, IL. Since then Sarah turned her focus strictly to classical ballet, as well as becoming part of Chicago Festival Ballet Company. While Sarah's main focus was her development as a ballerina, she turned to passing it on to others and developed a passion for teaching. While Sarah was an instructor for CFB School, she also was a rehearsal instructor and casting assistant for CFB Company while also dancing as a soloist in the Company.
Sarah has also danced with the Lyric Opera Ballet Company, Dallas Opera Ballet Company, and Ballet Chicago. She has also been the assistant choreographer for the 2001 Orange Bowl Parade and Halftime Show, assistant choreographer for Daytona 500, performed on national television as well as a principal dancer in Chicago Festival Ballet's production of The Nutcracker from 1997-2000 which traveled the mid-west. Sarah was able to maintain her dance training while studying full-time in high-school and junior college.
In 2001 Sarah moved to Orlando to dance at WDW as a performer and moved on to Staging-Specialist where she taught shows and parades. In 2002 she met her very supportive husband Jay, while working at Disney, they married in 2004 and in 2006 her world went on hold for the birth of their twins Quinn and Bella. Not only can Sarah teach, but teach and dance while pregnant. In July 2008 she gave birth to their beautiful daughter Brinlee making their family complete. While maintaining her family, she is also very dedicated to passing on her talents through teaching to aspiring students. Sarah is very honored to be a part of the PEDC staff. |

MISS ALYSSA
Tap, Combo Classes, Jazz, Competition Choreography
|
MISS ALYSSA grew up dancing along with Miss Amie at the Donna Miceli Dance Center in Tewksbury Massachusetts. Alyssa danced with the "Kid Co." and "Youth Dance Company" during her training at DMDC. At the age of 16 she graduated from the Teacher Preparation Program and started her career as a teacher and choreographer at DMDC.
Alyssa has trained with Tap Masters such as Gregory Hines, Brenda Buffalino, Barbara Duffy and Julia Boynton. She has traveled the country for Tap conferences to further her training on a number of occasions.
Alyssa moved back to Florida last year to teach for Miss Amie and has enjoyed every minute of it. She loves teaching at Performer's Edge because she can share her love of Tap with her students while dancing along side her sister again.
INTERESTING FACT: Miss Amie donated her kidney to me.

MISS LEAH

MISS LEAH comes to PEDC from Naples Florida where she was an instructor for Tracee's Dancin' Starz. She moved to Florida from the Philadelphia area, where she taught at the Jane Lopoten School of Dance for 13 years. As tap dancing is her passion, she has performed with numerous tap companies including T.A.P (Teach All People) Company in Bethlehem, P.A. Under the direction of Nicole Hockenberry, She has used her talents as a dancer to bring joy to assisted living centers, and also to raise money for many charities. Leah has trained with noted "hoofers": Buster Brown, Savion Glover, Gregory Hines, Jason Samuels Smith, Jimmy Tate, and Dianne Walker. She brings to PEDC her love of dance and crazy antics that have made many students laugh. |

MISS SARAH GRACE Guest Choreographer |
MISS SARAH Detroit native, trained for over 15 years under Sherry Blaha; Sherry's Academy of Dance Carleton, MI. She has performed and competed in all areas of dance, including jazz, tap, lyrical/contemporary, modern, and ballet. She received numerous national overall awards in competition while studying at her studio. As well as being company member, she began her teaching career at Sherry's.
After attending Sherry's Academy, Sarah went on the pursue college at Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasent. While studying psychology at Central, Sarah was a member of Orchesis Dance Theatre for 4 years, where she was a Principle company member. She is a CMU 2005 Bachelor of Science, Psychology graduate.
From college Sarah went on to travel and perform for 3 years as line captain and lead dancer for Aaron Radatz, Illusionist/Magician. Through ARIM she was able to travel the United States performing for all ages and audiences. Along with ARIM, she performed at Cedar Point, Hersey Park, and Busch Gardens, where she was lead actress for "Nightscares" 2005 Halloween season. She just recently finished working for Royal Caribbean Productions where she was a dancer/flyer for Royal Caribbean International Cruiseline, performing Broadway and Pop/Jazz like production shows. She resides in Orlando now to study psychology at a master's level, while performing and teaching as well. |

MISS MELISSA started dance at the age of 4 and choreographing by the age of 14. Melissa began her training in Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop in Miami, Fl. She later moved her studies to Palm Beach, Fl where she began teaching and choreographing Hip Hop and Jazz at 18 years old. Her desire to perform, led her to Orlando, Fl, which gave her the opportunity to start her career. Melissa's accomplishments include, back up dancer for local artists, T.V. sitcom for Nickelodeon, opening act for Regina Bell at Hard Rock Live, opening act for TOK, Cuban Link and T-Pain, McDonalds, and Surf Expo worldwide conventions. Her most recent performance has been for MTV event with the legendary Grand Master Flash and Three Six Mafia. |

MISS DEANNA is originally from Kissimmee, FL. She has been dancing since the age of 4 in all types of dance including Jazz Ballet, Tap, Acrobatics, Hip Hop, Pointe and Modern. Most recently Deanna just finished her 5th season with the Orlando Magic (NBA) Dance Team. Through the Magic she is currently in the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Magazine, was featured on the T.V. show "I'd Do Anything" on ESPN, traveled the world and was team leader for 2 of these seasons. She attended University of South Florida for dance education and was part of the dance team "Sundolls". Deanna has also dance for the Orlando Predators (AFL) Dance Team, The American Gladiator Dinner Theatre, Masters of Magic Show, Walt Disney Entertainment, Carnival Cruise Line and has been teaching dance for the past 8 years. She also attended SUNY at Buffalo, Valencia Community College and University of Central FL to continue her education and is currently director of The Lady Thundercats Dance Team (ABA). |

MISS MANDY
is from Sewell, NJ and her dance training began
19 years ago with Dance! by Debra DiNote. She was a member of the Dance!
Workshop Company where she had the opportunity to perform at various venues,
including Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney World, dance competitions, local
area churches, as well as annual Dance! Workshop Company productions of
“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “Once Upon a Glass Slipper”.
Mandy graduated from the Southern New Jersey Academy of Performing
Arts. While attending this
unique performing arts high school she studied with David Kloss, a founding
member of the Pennsylvania Ballet. She performed in many SNJAPA productions
including “A Christmas Carol” and “Beauty and the Beast”.
Mandy graduated with honors from The
University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA, in 2007 and holds a BFA in Dance
Education with a concentration in Ballet.
Mandy also received the Outstanding Student Teacher Award from the
Dance Department of the University.
Mandy was also an administrative intern with Phildanco!, of Phila.,
PA where she worked along side Joan Myers Brown, Gail Bennet, and Sandra
Houghton. Mandy previously educated
students at Kathy Henkel’s School of Dance and at Philadelphia’s Creative
and Performing Arts High School.
Mandy now lives in Celebration, Florida and currently works for Walt
Disney Entertainment and performs daily in various shows and parades at the
Magic Kingdom. She joined the
PEDC staff last year as a substitute teacher and front desk assistant.
Mandy is happy to return to PEDC this year and is excited to share
her passion and love of dance with her beginner ballet students! It is
Mandy’s goal to inspire students to grow as dancers and wants each child to
leave class feeling good about themselves.
Mandy feels very lucky to be able to have two dream jobs -- teaching
dance and performing at Walt Disney World. |
